Conference Announcement
Welcome!
The 21st International Conference on Radio-Frequency Superconductivity (SRF 2023) will be held the week of 25 to 30 June 2023 at the Amway Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. The conference will be hosted by the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University (MSU). The format will be in-person only.
The 2023 conference will mark more than 60 years of SRF research and development. In this time, many impressive advances in superconducting RF science and technology have been made. SRF technology is now a major part of many accelerator projects for particle physics, nuclear physics, synchrotron light sources, and free-electron lasers.
Continuing the successful tradition of 20 previous SRF conferences, this conference will provide a stimulating forum for scientists, engineers, students, and industrial partners to present and discuss the latest developments in SRF science, technology, and applications. The program will include invited talks, poster sessions, a keynote talk, a special commemorative session, an excursion, and a conference banquet. In the commemorative session, some of the SRF pioneers will recount the trials, tribulations, and successes of the early stages of SRF R&D.
A tour of the FRIB superconducting linac for nuclear physics research will be conducted on the last day of the conference. Tutorial sessions will be held before the conference: 22-24 June 2023 on the MSU campus.
The conference will provide opportunities for students and early-career researchers to present their work. We anticipate being able to provide some financial support for a significant number of students from all three regions to attend the conference. A student poster session will be held on Sunday in conjunction with the welcome reception.
We look forward to your contribution to make SRF 2023 an occasion for an exciting and fruitful exchange of ideas between research institutes and industrial suppliers, across countries and domains, and between newcomers and experienced practitioners.
Sincerely
Kenji Saito - Conference Chair
Ting Xu - Local Organizing Committee Chair
