Travel, accommodation, and visa information

Air Travel

Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) is the regional airport serving Tallahassee, Florida.

Even though it is called "international", there are almost no international flights going directly to TLH. TLH has, however, frequent connections to (is being served by) major international airports such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Miami International Airport (MIA), and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Connections via these airports to TLH are the most convenient.

Another option is to fly to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), get a rental car, and drive to Tallahassee. This is a ~3-hour-long (easy) drive.

Yet another option is to fly to Orlando International Airport (MCO), get a rental car, and drive to Tallahassee from there. This is a ~4-hour-long drive.

Ground transportation from TLH to Tallahassee

The easiest option is to use ride-share services such as UBER and LYFT to connect from TLH to any hotel in Tallahassee. You can expect a 20-minute to 30-minute drive/transfer.

For those who prefer official cab (taxi) services, you can book your cab transfer with Tallahassee Yellow Cab beforehand.

We encourage you to apply for your U.S. visa at least 120 days before the conference. Should you need a letter confirming that you attended the conference, please contact us. We cannot endorse (support) a visa otherwise.

The United States Department of State is the definitive source of requirements for your visit. Their website is https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html

Official U.S. Department of State information about U.S. Visa Policy and Procedures is available on the following sites. Use these sites to learn about the visa application process, understand current requirements, and get updates on recent developments.

Travel Health Insurance

As you arrange your travel to the U.S.A., we advise you to review your health coverage. Your current health coverage may not cover you during your travels outside your own country. Care in the U.S. healthcare system is expensive; even simple procedures can be costly. In case of an unforeseen medical condition, injury, or accident that may occur while traveling, it is best for you to understand your current coverage information, and if it is not sufficient, you may want to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy. While medical insurance for B visitors to the US is not mandatory, it is highly advisable. There are both B-1/B-2  visa health insurance plans available. We (the conference organizers) do not provide any support for obtaining health insurance.
