We are pleased to announce the Sixteenth International Conference on Heavy Ion Accelerator Technology,  HIAT2025, to be held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Michigan State University.

HIAT is an international conference dedicated to the design, construction, development and operation of stable and radioactive heavy-ion accelerators and their components. It focuses on the operational experience of existing facilities, achievements in heavy-ion accelerator physics and technology, progress on the implementation of new projects and infrastructure upgrades, and trends in the proposal, design and application of heavy ion accelerators as well as their main systems and components.

Topics for HIAT2025 are:

  • Circular Accelerators and Storage Rings
  • Room Temperature and Superconducting Linacs
  • Stable and Radioactive Ion Beam Facilities
  • Accelerator Systems and Components
  • Heavy Ion Beam Instrumentation
  • Operations, Controls, Computations
  • Ion Sources, Traps, and Charge Breeding
  • Isotope Separators Technology
  • Ion-material Interaction, Strippers, Targets, Beam Dumps
  • Applications: Medical, Materials, Isotopes, Space, and others
  • New Concepts and Applications for Heavy Ion Acceleration

The program will include invited and contributed talks, poster sessions, an excursion, and a conference banquet. All talks will be presented at plenary sessions. A tour of the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams will complete the program. Participation and abstract submission by students and postdocs are strongly encouraged. Financial support for students is planned. More details on the program will be provided in the second circular and on the conference website.

Registration will be available online at the HIAT 2025 webpage. Once registration is open, registrants can propose a presentation they might give by submitting an abstract on the website (see the menu item "Abstract Submission"). The Organizing Committee also encourages anyone to nominate any other individual to present a talk by emailing suggestions to Peter Ostroumov (ostroumo@frib.msu.edu). The registration fee covers coffee breaks, the welcome reception, and the conference banquet.
