The FRIB-TA Topical Program - Hadronic Electric Dipole Moments in the FRIB Era: From the Proton to Protactinium will be held at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, MI USA.
Themes
-
Theoretical Overview of EDMs: Current status and impact
-
Experimental Overview of EDMs: Current status and future prospects
-
EDMs at different energy scales from molecules to BSM Physics
-
Nuclear theory for calculating nuclear moments at different length scales
-
Enhancements of nuclear moments in heavy deformed nuclei
-
Translation of nuclear effects into atomic observables
Goal of Program & Deliverables
The deliverable will consist of a website with posted talks along with a white paper which addresses:
-
How reliable are Schiff moment calculations?
-
How to quantify Standard Model EDM estimates?
-
What are the most promising heavy nuclei EDM candidates?
-
How do single nucleon EDMs manifest themselves in heavy nuclei?
-
How to relate nuclear moments to experimental observables?
The Topical Program is organized by the FRIB Theory Alliance. For selected participants we hope to provide partial support which may include lodging and meals. After registration has closed you will be contacted with the support we are able to provide. We will not provide support for transportation expenses.
