 he registration tab.\n\n\n\nThe 8th International Conference on Collective
  Motion in Nuclei under Extreme Conditions (COMEX8) will be held at Flori
 da State University in Tallahassee\, Florida (USA). The conference is host
 ed by the Department of Physics at Florida State University.\n\nThe Confer
 ence will be held in person from December 15 to December 19\, 2025\, at F
 SU's Turnbull Conference Center. In the tradition of previous COMEX confer
 ences\, we will accept contributed talks and poster contributions in addit
 ion to a number of invited talks. \n\nConference fee and hotel reservation
 s\n\nRegistration is now open. The conference fee is USD 500 (early bird)
 . The fee will increase on November 17\,2025. The conference fee does no
 t include lodging. \n\nAbstract submission  is open from May 8 to Septe
 mber 15\, 2025\n\nParticipants will need to make their own lodging reserva
 tions. Hotels close to the conference venue (walking distance) offer a spe
 cial event rate. More information\, including travel information\, can be 
 found under "Travel\, accommodation\, and visa information".\n\nConference
  dinner and excursion\n\nThe conference dinner will be held at the Lodge a
 t Wakulla Springs. Before the dinner\, conference attendees will have the 
 chance to explore the Wakulla Springs State Park and to enjoy a boat tour 
 along the Wakulla River. \n\nThe following text is from the Wakulla Spring
  State Park website: "The river boat tour along the Wakulla River is one o
 f the most popular visitor destinations in the Tallahassee area. The 45- 
 to 55-minute world-class wildlife viewing event takes visitors on a 2-mile
  loop downstream and back among majestic bald cypress trees\, elegant wadi
 ng birds\, and toothy alligators. Manatees are often sighted\, but their 
 presence is not dependable." In December\, you can expect to be able to se
 e the manatees.\n\nPrevious editions and scope of  conference\n\nThe COME
 X conferences are a continuation of a long series of topical conferences o
 n giant resonances started in 1979. The scope of COMEX8 will be similar to
  that of previous editions:\n\n\n	COMEX1\, held in Paris (France) in 2003\
 n	COMEX2\, held in Sankt Goar (Germany) in 2006\n	COMEX3\, held in Michiga
 n (US) in 2009\n	COMEX4\, held in Kanagawa (Japan) in 2012\n	COMEX5\, held
  in Krakow (Poland) in 2015\n	COMEX6\, held in Cape Town (South Africa) in
  2018\n	COMEX7\, held in Catania (Italy) in 2023\n\n\nThe main topics of 
 the COMEX8 conference are:\n\n\n	Giant resonances in cold and hot nuclei\
 n	Collective and new excitation modes in nuclei\n	Spin and isospin modes\n
 	Clustering and pairing effects in excitations\n	Studies of the decay of h
 ighly excited states\n	Collective excitations and the nuclear equation of 
 state\n	Applications in astrophysics\n	Novel instrumentation and methods\n
